Landcare Biodiversity Grants
The war on weeds in Tasmania has been the main focus of the latest round of Landcare Tasmania’s Biodiversity grants, making it the largest statewide weed control project for gorse and Spanish heath in high conservation areas.
The latest round of funding across 24 new projects helps individuals to tackle not only gorse and Spanish heath but also invasive rice grass, fencing forest from stock grazing post wildfire and protection of shorebird habitat to name just a few. Thirty nine projects across the state are now in full swing and the program runs until June 2015.
