Landcare Hero Honour Roll

The Landcare Hero Honour Roll seeks to promote, acknowledge and celebrate the considerable contributions of those who have been involved in Landcare for 25 years or more. Whether you are a farmer, part of a local group, still involved as an individual landcarer or have hung up your weeding gloves, we want to honour you.

  • Elspeth SwanVIC

    Elspeth Swan has been a member of the Moorabool Catchment Landcare Group since its inception in 1989.

  • Bill McIntoshSA

    Bill and his wife Jane run Gum Creek Station in the Finders Ranges, 500km north of Adelaide. Bill has been a leader in soil conservation, landcare, natural resources management and community development.

  • Peter and Wilma McKay VIC

    Peter and Wilma have been a pioneer and driving force of Landcare in the district. They were the co-founders of the Triholm Landcare group in 1991, with the first meeting being held on their property.

  • Richard and Zoe BaillieVIC

    Zoe and Richard Baillie were foundation members of Jindanook Landcare group, which formed in 1988. Richard served as president and Zoe as equipment officer during their time with the group.

  • Gary and Joan WallisVIC

    Joan and Gary Wallis moved to South Gippsland in 1987 and immediately got involved with sustainable farming and tree groups.

  • John and Tricia FlemingVIC

    Tricia and John Fleming are both Landcare pioneers in the Fish Creek district. Both were founding members of the Fish Creek Landcare group in 1992.

  • Les and Mary BoyceQLD

    Mary Boyce worked with Les in planting dune species and both were active members of Rainbow Beach Coastcare, now Cooloola Coastcare.
