John and Tricia Fleming(VIC)
Tricia and John Fleming are both Landcare pioneers in the Fish Creek district. Both were founding members of the Fish Creek Landcare group in 1992. They were involved in a farm discussion group that formed the Landcare Group. They have been actively involved with both the Fish Creek, and then when they moved to Nyora, as part of the Loch Nyora group. The Flemings have also been a driving force of environmental action and policy in the district. Both have been involved with the steering committee for the South Gippsland Landcare Network, as well as starting the South Gippsland Seed Bank. John has been on the South Gippsland Landcare Network Board over many years. Tricia is on the local Community weeds Taskforce. Most importantly, the Flemings have implemented works on their property that match their Landcare ethos, fencing off and planting out all gullies on own property and continue to revegetate areas as required. Their passion and enthusiasm for Landcare has inspired and motivated many others in the region.
